Barnyard Millet
Barnyard millet is yet another staple food that has been cultivated in India and is produced for
both cereal and livestock. It is quite common in the highlands, particularly in the Mountains, and
is a significant component of hill and indigenous farming. On a smaller extent, it is also grown in
Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. The millets can be used to make warm
porridges. You can also grind them at home – make chapatis and dosas.
